''I have just spent weeks working on a life size clay figure to walk into 'the pigeonhole' [studio] this morning to find it collapsed on the floor and just when I thought I was getting it all together but I was not angry ... sad yes because it came to mind, isn't life just like this clay figure it can all collapse around you at any time but I will get the chance to play 'God' ... I will be in the business of 'resurrection'. If I give up on making sculpture I give up on life.''
